These photos were taken in and around the condo where my son lives. Squaw Peak Mountain is within walking distance. I just moved back here a month ago and would have taken more photos but I am without transportation at this time. Phoenix is surrounded by mountains and we have desert and palm trees. Seems like a contradiction but is simply breathtaking.

I've heard a lot of good things about your twon. Great place to spend the winter. I lived near Palm Springs for quite a few years so I know better than to head that way in the summer. :-)

Thanks for participating.

Phoenix is one really beautiful city! I worked there for a while back in 1970 - the entire month of July and again, the entire month of October that year. July, when you are working out in the desert off the Black Canyon Freeway is hotter than hot! Some nights, coming back into town, the temp at 8:30-9 p.m. would still be registering in the 120's. But even so, I found the dry heat there a lot more tolerable than the temps in July back in D.C. where, with all the humidity factors, at 85 or 90 it felt hotter than the 120's in Phoenix. October though was absolutely perfect weather. However, I'm still a "four-season girl" and may grump and complain in the winter months about the cold, ice and snow, but I still enjoy it -to a degree -most of the time.

I posted pics of my town today too. I much prefer your town, I lived in Mesa for awhile and loved it!

G'day from Australia,

Thank you for linking to me. Squaw Peak - what a great name.

I tried squaw wrestling once, in the Yukon - and wrote about it on my blog!!

Cheers
